Martin, 256-682-2201 or Thmartin51@gmail.com. Community Farm Manager Position at Hampstead Farms, Montgomery, Alabama. Download job description. Vine and Fig Tree Farm/Community (east-central Alabama- Lanett) seeking people interested in engaging in sustainable/organic farming as members of a land trust community (about 60 acres) in east-central Alabama – the Vine & Fig Tree Farm/Community. We have in mind a small (8-12 individuals or families) ecovillage planned according to permaculture principles, with members holding 99-year renewable leases on lots where they build their own low-impact housing (either individual or multi-person/family units). Those who come in first will help determine details of the community structure and process. In addition to individual and/or community-organized farming (CSA and/or market gardening) we hope to see development of other land-based enterprises to provide cash income. We prefer consensus decision making and assume members will be enthusiastically committed to cooperative living and mutual support in work and play. We think it is important for us to be good citizens of the surrounding unintentional community and find opportunities to develop cooperative relationships with our neighbors. We also hope our community will to some extent become a model learning and service center for others. http://directory.ic.org/1454/Vine_Fig_Tree_Community.
