I just ran across an announcement on AL.com about an Alabama AllStar Food Festival. It is going to be on Commerce Street in downtown Montgomery, on May 12, between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm. According to the announcement, you have to buy ticket for $35.00. This is supposed to involve farmers, breweries, restaurants, musicians... All foods are supposedly locally sourced.
Hello All:
Well, I guess it's up to me to officially open up this forum, and invite each of you to start or join in a conversation about sustainable agriculture.

I would first like to state that I feel totally unprepared to moderate such a forum, because I have no academic knowledge of agriculture. I just happen to be the one who built, designed, and deployed all components of the ASAN website.

Professionally speaking, I have dedicated the better part of my life as a public school educator, public servant, and entrepreneur. So, I am very much out of my league. But, until a more worthy volunteer comes along, I guess I'm it.

Let me be the first to invite you to make the greatest use possible of these forums, and re-double the efforts to promote sustainable agriculture in Alabama and throughout the nation.

Let me also be the first to invite anyone who has the interest to serve as a moderator over some of these boards, or if there is no topic here that interests you, start one, and moderate it.

Think about it... it's a great way to promote the website, your issues, or just to advocate for a very noble cause.
