Operates as the primary educational outreach organization for the three universities, helping individuals and families in urban and rural areas as well as communities. The extension service provides classes and workshops including the Master Cattle Producer and Master Gardener programs and 4-H. Extension agents are stationed throughout the state to provide technical assistance. The service also produces a number of publications (see page 22).

Provides routine soil testing and analyzes soil micronutrient, organic matter, forage, feed, nitrates, and water quality. The extension service provides assistance with sample collection. Provides organic fertilizer recommendations upon request.

Plant samples are examined for disease, insect, nutrient, cultural, and herbicide problems. Soil samples are analyzed for plant parasitic nematodes and insect samples are identified.
